'Grandpa drug dealer' caught red-handed
In the Bergama district of İzmir, a 73-year-old suspect, who was under surveillance by police teams and determined to be dealing drugs, was caught while transporting narcotics from central İzmir to Bergama. During the search of the vehicle, historical artifacts were seized in addition to the drugs, and the suspect was arrested by the court.
Teams from the Bergama District Police Department's Public Security Bureau began tracking 73-year-old A.A. following intelligence that he was dealing drugs in the district.
Acting on intelligence that A.A. would be transporting narcotics from central İzmir to Bergama, the teams took action and stopped A.A.'s vehicle at the entrance to the district.

ARRESTED BY THE COURT
Police searching the individuals identified as A.A. and S.Ş. inside the vehicle seized methamphetamine, cannabis, and synthetic pills subject to green prescription.
In a search conducted in the vehicle and at A.A.'s home with permission obtained from the prosecutor's office, more methamphetamine and 2 unlicensed pistols were seized.
A.A. and S.Ş., who were taken into custody, were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. While 73-year-old A.A. was arrested by the court for the crime of drug trafficking, S.Ş., who was in the vehicle, was released after giving a statement.
