Grandson of the last Ottoman Sultan Vahdettin has died

Osman Rifat Ibrahim, a member of the Ottoman and Muhammad Ali dynasties, has passed away in Madrid, the capital of Spain, at the age of 73 following a heart attack.

It has been learned that the funeral of Osman Rifat Ibrahim will be taken to Lausanne, Switzerland, where he will be laid to rest in the grave of his father, Prince Amr Ibrahim.

WHO IS OSMAN RIFAT IBRAHIM?

Sultanzade Osman Rifat Ibrahim, an Egyptian prince and member of the Muhammad Ali dynasty, was the son of Necla Hibetullah Sultan, who was the third daughter of Rukiye Sabiha Sultan, one of the daughters of the last Ottoman Sultan, Vahideddin Han.

Necla Hibetullah Sultan's father was Şehzade Ömer Faruk Efendi, the son of the last Caliph Abdülmecid Efendi, who was a son of Sultan Abdülaziz.

The Sultanzade's father, Prince Amr Ibrahim, was a member of the Muhammad Ali dynasty and a fifth-generation descendant of Muhammad Ali Pasha.

HE WAS LIVING IN MADRID

Born in Cairo in 1951 during the exile, Sultanzade Osman Rifat Ibrahim, who never married, was living in Madrid.

He served as the president of The Royal Institute Mohammed Ali, which he founded in 1991 to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of Muhammad Ali Pasha and his dynasty.
