Great Palestine march begins: Galata Bridge closed to traffic
The Great Palestine March, organized to protest Israel's attacks in Palestine, began with morning prayers at Hagia Sophia, with thousands of participants continuing the event at Galata Bridge with slogans and banners.
The Great Palestine March was held under the leadership of the National Will Platform with the participation of nearly 400 non-governmental organizations to protest Israel's attacks in Palestine and show support for the Palestinian people.
Many people gathered at the Hagia Sophia Mosque from the early hours of the morning for the event.
"JERUSALEM IS OURS" SLOGANS
Some of the participants who came to the mosque for morning prayers prayed inside, while others prayed outside. Carrying banners reading "Jerusalem is ours," "Gaza is a place where children do not grow up," and "Jerusalem is under occupation," the participants created a visual display with torches.
After the prayers, the crowd began marching from the Hagia Sophia Mosque and reached the Galata Bridge, chanting slogans such as "Killer Israel will be held accountable," "Martyrs do not die," and "A thousand greetings from Istanbul to the resistance in Al-Aqsa."
Participants were admitted to the area after passing through police checkpoints. Throughout the event, calls for support for Jerusalem and Palestine were made with takbirs and messages of solidarity.
