Greece's decision on Ali Yeşildağ! Will he be extradited to Turkey?

The Greek Supreme Court has decided to extradite Ali Yeşildağ, who has made corruption allegations against AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and his own brothers in videos he published, to Turkey.

According to a report by T24, the Supreme Court in Greece stated that it did not find Yeşildağ's objection to Turkey's extradition request sufficient.

HE WILL BE EXTRADITED IF THE MINISTER OF JUSTICE APPROVES

Yeşildağ will be extradited to Turkey if Greek Minister of Justice George Floridis approves the decision.

According to Kathimerini, one of Greece's leading media outlets, Yeşildağ and his family plan to appeal to the Council of State to stop the extradition if the minister grants approval.

In mid-November 2023, Greek border security found the 54-year-old Yeşildağ in the rural area of Feres and determined that he had crossed the Turkey-Greece border illegally.

Greek police officers had stated that there was an Interpol arrest warrant issued by Turkey for Yeşildağ due to robbery and murder crimes he allegedly committed in 1986 when he was 17 years old.
