Gülben Ergen's 'hospital' response to Kemal Memişoğlu
Artist Gülben Ergen has reacted on social media to Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu's announcement that a 300-bed cardiovascular hospital will be opened in Syria.
Artist Gülben Ergen expressed her reaction on social media to Health Minister Kemal Memişoğlu's statement regarding health investments to be made in Syria. In response to Memişoğlu's words, "We will put a 300-bed cardiovascular hospital into service in Syria in a short time," Ergen brought the problems of the healthcare system in Turkey to the agenda.
In her post, Gülben Ergen also made a reference to the "The water is getting hot" post previously made by Chief Advisor to the President Oktay Saral regarding the arrested journalist Fatih Altaylı. In her post on her social media account X, Ergen used the following expressions:
"We shouldn't comment because our water might get hot, right?
We shouldn't talk about our patients who wait for weeks to get an MRI appointment in our state hospitals, or the treatment costs of the families of our children with SMA and DMD, right?"
Health Minister Prof. Dr. Kemal Memişoğlu's aforementioned statement came during his visit to Bolu. Stating that Turkey will continue its support for the restructuring of health services in Syria, Memişoğlu had said the following:
"Today, as the Republic of Turkey and the Ministry of Health, we are providing all kinds of support for the restructuring of health services in our brother country Syria. We will complete the processes of two hospitals that will set an example in Damascus and Aleppo, and we will provide our support so that they can offer good health services to our brothers there. We have signed the protocols, and in a very short time, we will make the 300-bed cardiovascular hospital providing health services in Damascus operational as a reflection of the health services in Turkey to offer health services to the people there."
