Güllü case: First statement from Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter's lawyer following the aggravated life sentence

Following the aggravated life sentence handed down to her daughter, Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter, in the case regarding Güllü's death, the lawyers for the parties have issued a statement. Gülter's lawyer, Merve Uçanok, stated that the decision is not final and that the judicial process will continue through the appellate and Supreme Court stages.

Uçanok argued that her client is facing a grave slander and claimed that the court formed its opinion without sufficiently debating the evidence. Expressing her belief that the file will be returned from the higher courts, Uçanok stated that she believes the decision will be overturned.

"I stand behind Tuğyan Ülkem Gülter to the end. I believe that I will ultimately prove her innocence at the end of the trial. We will never give up. At the very end of the trial, I will reunite Tuğyan with her daughter."

— Merve Uçanok

Speaking after the case, Tuğberk Yağız Gülter's lawyer, Rahmi Çelik, said that they were saddened by the incident. Çelik stated that the court's decision should be respected and that they would continue to follow the legal processes regarding Sultan.
