Gülşah Durbay's father refutes Yılmaz Özdil's claims: He is attempting political exploitation

Durbay stated that Özdil is engaging in political exploitation over his daughter's passing, saying, "He is using our name to attack the CHP, shame on him."

Yılmaz Özdil, who left his position as General Editor of Sözcü TV in a controversial manner, claimed in a post on his social media account that the father of the late Manisa Şehzadeler Mayor Gülşah Durbay had called him to complain about irregularities within the CHP, stating, "Gülşah Durbay's father called me. He told me such things about the corruption in the CHP that my eyes widened in shock."

Speaking to journalist Şaban Sevinç on the matter, father Osman Durbay refuted these claims by Yılmaz Özdil. Durbay said, "I have never met Yılmaz Özdil in my life. He is using our name to attack the CHP, shame on him."

Osman Durbay stated that he had called Özdil after he left Sözcü TV to thank him for what he had written about his late daughter, Gülşah Durbay.

Osman Durbay told Sevinç the following:

Mr. Yılmaz acted very shamefully; he is attempting to engage in political exploitation over the pain of my daughter. I had called him a few days after he left Sözcü; he had written an article about my daughter, and I called to thank him for that. We chatted a bit afterward. He has taken this and presented it in his video as if I had told him mysterious things against the party. I got his phone number from Rıfat Serdaroğlu and called him that way. The only thing I said while talking to Özdil was that the CHP was moving slowly regarding expulsions and that it should work faster; that was the only complaint I had. Özgür Bey is our child; I have known Özgür Özel for 25 years, he grew up with us, we love him like our own child. He even came to visit us on Mother's Day this past Sunday, and he is doing his job very successfully. There are allegations by Özkan Yalım about giving money; these are ridiculous things. Özgür Özel has nothing to do with money; he is an honest man.
