Guns fired in Ankara this time: One of the attackers clashing with police killed

In the Altındağ district of Ankara, a clash broke out between police and two individuals who responded to a 'stop' order with gunfire, resulting in the death of suspect Serdar K. (18), who had 12 prior criminal records, and the injury of Muhammet E. (22), who had 19 prior criminal records. 

The incident occurred during the night hours. Police officers F.C.Ö. and H.S., serving at the District Police Department and on patrol duty, issued a warning to stop after spotting Serdar K. and Muhammet E., who had active arrest warrants. The driver of the car, in which there were a total of 4 people including the suspects, did not stop.

ONE OF THE ATTACKERS LOST HIS LIFE

Those in the vehicle opened fire on the police. The suspects, who were met with return fire from the police, fled the scene. A short time later, the car was found abandoned. One unlicensed handgun was seized from the vehicle. Serdar K., who was learned to have been wounded during the clash and taken to the hospital, lost his life, while Muhammet E. was treated at the hospital.

It was learned that the deceased Serdar K. had 12 criminal records, while M.E., who was taken into custody following his treatment, had 19. While teams are searching for the other 2 individuals who fled, it was stated that the statements of police officers F.C.Ö. and H.S. were taken regarding the incident.
