Gunshots near shopping mall in İzmir
One person was injured in an armed altercation that occurred right next to the İstinye Park shopping mall in the Balçova district of İzmir, and the perpetrator was apprehended by police teams.
The incident occurred around 22:00 right next to the İstinye Park shopping mall located in Balçova.
According to the information obtained, a person named N.U.E., who is a tradesman, encountered E.A., with whom he had a dispute over a debt.
When the argument between the two escalated into a fight, N.U.E. shot E.A. in the leg with the handgun he was carrying and fled.
While citizens who heard the gunshots began to flee in fear, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon notification. The suspect of the incident, N.U.E., was apprehended and taken into custody by Balçova public security teams in a short time along with the weapon used in the crime.
The injured E.A. was taken to the hospital by ambulance by medical teams, and it was learned that his life is not in danger.
The investigation initiated regarding the incident is ongoing.
