Gürsel Tekin and Barış Yarkadaş expelled from CHP: Statement from the High Disciplinary Board

The statement made by the YDK is as follows:

In the meeting of our High Disciplinary Board dated 26.09.2025, it was decided that members Gürsel Tekin, Savaş Aras, Erkan Narsap, Zeki Şen, Levent Çelik, and Barış Yarkadaş be punished with permanent expulsion in accordance with the provision of "engaging in attitudes and behaviors incompatible with the duties, responsibilities, and membership held in the party" as stated in Article 68/1-b of our Charter;

It was decided to reject the appeals made by members Yusuf Gögerkaya, Berhan Şimşek, Mustafa Yavuz, Zeynel Kızılkaya, Atakan Demirci, Koray Göbel, Ömer Kutlu, and Cevher Sönmez against the Central Executive Board's decision to refer them to our Board with a request for permanent expulsion with precautionary measures, and that the precautionary measures shall remain in effect.

ERKAN NARSAP IS ALSO AMONG THOSE EXPELLED

Erkan Narsap was also among those expelled from the CHP along with Tekin, Yarkadaş, and Gögerkaya. Narsap is one of the individuals who stood by Tekin in the board of trustees appointed to the Istanbul Provincial Presidency by the Istanbul 45th Civil Court of First Instance.

PROCESS CONTINUES FOR BERHAN ŞİMŞEK

The precautionary measure remains in effect for Berhan Şimşek, a former Istanbul Provincial President and deputy who is among those referred to the YDK for expulsion due to his statements regarding Özel and the party administration, as his 15-day defense period has not yet expired.

PROCESS CONTINUES FOR ERZURUM DELEGATE

Yusuf Gögerkaya, who is a deputy to trustee Gürsel Tekin and also an Erzurum delegate, had come to the agenda after making allegations regarding 'nightclubs' (pavyon). With the decision taken by the CHP YDK, the expulsion process for Gögerkaya also continues.
