Had been in the spotlight for corruption: Yunus Emre Institute organized a 'Tulip Festival' in Mexico

The Yunus Emre Institute (YEE), whose name has been associated with millions of liras in corruption, organized a "Tulip Festival" in Mexico. Mexicans attending the event held at the Turkish Cultural Center in the capital, Mexico City, were informed about many topics ranging from the Tulip Era in the Ottoman Empire to the Tulip Festival held in modern-day Istanbul.

TULIP PLANTING EVENT 

Various workshops were organized within the scope of the festival. While participants made colorful tulips using the art of "origami," the tulip planting event also attracted great interest. Guests were provided with information on how to grow the gifted tulips.

Following the busy program, guests were served Turkish tea and Turkish delight.

YEE Mexico Director Salih Gültekin stated that they were pleased with the interest shown in the event and that they aimed to make the festival a tradition. Gültekin expressed that they plan to organize the 2nd Traditional Tulip Festival in one of the major parks of the Mexico Municipality next year.
