Hakan Fidan meets with Hamas delegation in Ankara

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a meeting in Ankara with a delegation led by Hamas Political Bureau member Khalil al-Hayya. During the meeting, the current situation in Gaza and the second phase of the peace plan were discussed.

While Fidan emphasized that Turkey continues to defend the rights of Palestinians on international platforms, he also conveyed the efforts Turkey is carrying out to meet humanitarian aid and shelter needs in Gaza. The Hamas delegation stated that they are complying with the ceasefire conditions, but that Israel's attacks on Gaza are blocking the peace process.

During the meeting, it was noted that the majority of trucks allowed to enter Gaza are carrying commercial goods, while humanitarian aid remains insufficient. The delegation expressed that there are serious shortages, particularly in basic necessities, medicine, shelter materials, and fuel supplies.

Furthermore, the reconciliation process between Palestinian groups and the situation in the West Bank were also evaluated. It was emphasized that Israel's practices in the West Bank are unacceptable.
