Hamas releases 16-page 'Al-Aqsa Flood' report: Why did they launch the attack?

The war between Israel and Palestine, which began following the Al-Aqsa Flood operation launched by Hamas on the morning of October 7, 2023, continues. Hamas has released a report regarding the operation it initiated approximately 4 months ago.

The 16-page report, titled "Why we carried out the Al-Aqsa Flood," details what happened on October 7, the reasons for the operation, and its connection to the Palestinian cause.

The report, which is stated to have been prepared with the aim of refuting Israel's claims and revealing the truth, describes the Al-Aqsa Flood as "a necessary step and a natural response to confront Israel's plans to liquidate the Palestinian cause, seize land, Judaize it, and establish full control over the Al-Aqsa Mosque and holy sites."

The report also notes that the "Al-Aqsa Flood" was "a natural step on the path to ending the blockade on the Gaza Strip, as well as achieving liberation from occupation, restoring national rights, attaining independence and the right to self-determination, and establishing a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital."

"SOME DISRUPTIONS MAY HAVE OCCURRED DUE TO THE COLLAPSE OF ISRAEL'S SYSTEM"

The report states that Hamas has avoided targeting civilians since its inception, adding, "During the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation, chaos may have occurred due to the complete and rapid collapse of Israel's security and military system, and the wide breaches opened in the wire fences separating Gaza from the operation zones."

Addressing accusations that Hamas targeted Israeli civilians during the "Al-Aqsa Flood," the report emphasizes that "avoiding the targeting of civilians, especially women, children, and the elderly, is a requirement of the moral and religious upbringing received by Hamas members."

The report states, "The claim that Al-Qassam members targeted civilians on October 7 is a complete fabrication and a lie. Those who claim this are Israeli sources. There is no independent source that confirms this. Videos taken that day and statements by Israelis published later show that Al-Qassam fighters did not target civilians, and most of the civilians were killed by the Israeli police and military as a result of the confusion within the Israeli army and police."

The report conveys that resistance forces targeted those carrying weapons against the Palestinian people and Israeli soldiers, a point that has been stated repeatedly in the past.

Addressing the opposition of the US and European countries to Israel being tried before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), the report calls on "the US, Germany, Canada, and the UK in particular, if they truly believe in justice, to support the judicial process for the investigation of all crimes committed in Palestine."
