Harassment indictment against AKP mayor! Two women filed complaints

It is alleged that Gökhan Mustafa Demirtaş, the AKP mayor of Gülüç in Zonguldak, subjected two women working under him, identified as D.K. and N.Y., to both verbal and physical harassment.

PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE DECIDED NOT TO PROSECUTE

A criminal complaint was filed with the Karadeniz Ereğli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. While an indictment was prepared against Demirtaş, the Prosecutor's Office decided not to prosecute regarding N.Y.'s complaint due to insufficient evidence. The women's lawyer is preparing to appeal the decision.

According to a report by Gökhan Kam from Cumhuriyet, D.K. stated in her testimony to the prosecutor conducting the investigation, "He started calling me to his office frequently. Later, he called me on the phone and said he wanted to meet outside. When I refused, he said, 'We can meet at my house.'" On another day, she explained that Demirtaş called her to his office and said, "Your job is mine, your lover is mine, your husband is mine; you will only deal with me." D.K. also alleged that Demirtaş hugged her and forcibly kissed her on the lips.

Following the permission granted by the Ministry of Interior to investigate the allegations against Demirtaş, the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office took action and prepared an indictment against Demirtaş on charges of "sexual assault by molestation and sexual harassment."

Regarding the complaint filed by N.Y., the prosecutor's office decided not to prosecute at the end of the investigation due to insufficient evidence. Yiğit Beşok, the lawyer representing the women, stated that they would appeal the "no prosecution" decision.
