Harsh words from Erdoğan to former CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu: 'His toxic language, polarizing rhetoric'
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan spoke at the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) International Trade Fair. In his speech, Erdoğan launched a harsh attack on former CHP leader Kılıçdaroğlu.
Erdoğan stated, "Despite the impact of the earthquake last year, we kept the budget deficit at 5.2 percent of the national income, and we aim to reduce it to 4.9 percent this year.
We will reduce the budget deficit to 3.1 percent in 2025 and provide very strong support to disinflation through fiscal policy channels," he said.
In his speech at the Independent Industrialists and Businessmen's Association (MÜSİAD) International Trade Fair held at the Tüyap Fair and Congress Center, Erdoğan emphasized that Turkey achieved all these successes despite the earthquakes of the century experienced on February 6.
"IT IS CLEAR PROOF THAT THE POLITICS OF BACKSTABBING IS EMBEDDED IN THEIR GENETICS"
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan continued his speech by pointing to the defense statement made by former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu via video link at the Ankara Courthouse as part of the trial in Mersin, where he is being tried for "publicly insulting a public official due to their duty":
"You can see it for yourselves. The insults hurled by the ousted leader of the CHP in the courtroom last week have once again revealed what a great precipice Turkey stepped back from in the May 14-28 elections. We all remember very well how, during his tenure as chairman, with his toxic language, polarizing rhetoric, and ugly political style, he tore himself apart to prevent investment from coming to Turkey, to prevent the Turkish economy from recovering, how he disparaged our country, and how he complained about it abroad.
Today, his lashing out in every direction out of anger over losing elections and party congresses, and his insolent attacks on his former alliance partners along with the People's Alliance, are clear proof that the politics of backstabbing is embedded in their genetics. When we look at not just the former management of the CHP but also the new management, we see very clearly that backstabbing, digging pits for others, tripping people up, and arrogantly threatening judges and prosecutors who work selflessly for the manifestation of justice is a tradition of opposition."
Criticizing the municipalities run by the opposition, Erdoğan said, "They don't even have a single proper project to show the citizens and say, 'This is our work,' but there is never a shortage of fighting and noise. In the cities they govern, the traffic problem has reached unbearable dimensions.
Nothing has been done regarding the earthquake. No steps have been taken. None of the promises they made to the citizens in the squares have been kept. Corruption, theft, and incompetence have run rampant in the municipalities. They don't care at all; it's not even on their radar. All they care about is: Who will be the presidential candidate? Who will sit in the party's chairmanship seat? That is their only concern. Turkey has neither the time nor the energy to lose with these people," he said.
