Harsh words from Tanju Özcan to Kılıçdaroğlu: 'We have been nursing a snake in our bosom for 13 years'

Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who chose to remain silent during the operations against CHP-run municipalities and the trustee case, reacted to the CHP's decision not to send a member to the delegation that would go to İmralı to meet with terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan.

Sharing a video on his X account last night, Kılıçdaroğlu also spoke about corruption and bribery investigations, saying, "The party must cleanse itself."

Arguing that the CHP should be involved in a second opening process, Kılıçdaroğlu said the following:

"The CHP must be part of the process to eliminate the trouble of Israel and the US, who are waiting for us to stumble in the Middle East, and for the supreme interests of the state. It must take risks and take responsibility by looking at the issue from a supra-political perspective. Our nation's expectation from the CHP is to be a pioneer in the brotherhood process and to set the direction for the process. Being on the right side of history often requires courage and determination."

Kılıçdaroğlu's breaking of his silence on the İmralı issue, after months of not making any statements, caused reactions. One such reaction to Kılıçdaroğlu came from Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan.

Özcan stated, "KK, who has been silent for months, shared a video yesterday that amounts to aiding and abetting the AKP and MHP, who have fallen into the dark well of İmralı. It didn't surprise me, but it saddened me deeply! I say this with sadness on behalf of my country and my party: we have been nursing a snake in our bosom for 13 years."
