In 2023, he made headlines with his Quran-burning protests in Sweden. These actions sparked widespread reactions across the Islamic world.

In October 2023, Swedish authorities decided to deport Momika. Following this decision, Momika announced that he planned to apply for asylum in neighboring Norway.
