He called the proclamation of the Republic a 'bloody coup': KİPTAŞ favor for 'Yeliz'

Former AKP Istanbul deputy Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı is known to the public by the nickname "Yeliz." During a live social media broadcast he opened while in a parliamentary session, the camera accidentally turned toward him, revealing that Çamlı was the owner of this long-mysterious account.

Çamlı served as the personal driver for President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for many years, and subsequently entered Parliament as an AKP Istanbul deputy during the 26th and 27th terms.

ALLEGATION THAT HE BOUGHT 3 APARTMENTS CHEAPLY FROM KİPTAŞ

According to a report by Sözcü, it was stated that Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı was among those who purchased apartments from the 5th Levent project, which was carried out by KİPTAŞ during the period when the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) was under AKP administration.

It was alleged that during the term of Mevlüt Uysal, who was brought to the İBB presidency following the resignation of Kadir Topbaş, special discounted sales were made to certain individuals under the guise of a "campaign" in the project in question.

It was claimed that among those who benefited from these discounts were bureaucrats, business people, and KİPTAŞ executives, along with Çamlı, and that the former deputy purchased three apartments for approximately 22 percent below the list price.

COMPARISON OF THE REPUBLIC TO A "BLOODY COUP" DREW REACTION

Çamlı, known to the public by the name "Yeliz," also drew reaction with his statements on his social media account targeting the proclamation of the Republic.

In a post, Çamlı described the Republic as a "bloody 1923 coup," stating, "The state cannot advance on the path to a new, terror-free, and great state without reckoning with and seeking reconciliation for the bloody 1923 coup."

The Kemalist Thought Association (ADD) filed a criminal complaint against Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı due to his statements.
