In an illegal betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, allegations that a time difference in the live betting system was exploited for financial gain have been included in the case file. At the center of the investigation is O.B., a data analyst working for a private firm that provides sports data analytics services to betting companies.
According to the allegations in the file, O.B. interfered with the live betting feed, particularly during tennis and volleyball matches, delaying the system by 7 seconds. It is claimed that thanks to this delay, information regarding scores and developments in the matches was passed on to accomplices, who then placed bets through legal betting sites.
It is alleged that through this method, the legal betting companies served by the firm where O.B. worked were defrauded of approximately 12 million lira. The investigation file also states that the suspect asked individuals he allegedly acted in concert with to open accounts on betting sites.
MESSAGES ENTERED THE CASE FILE
WhatsApp messages exchanged between the suspects, which were identified during the investigation, were also included as evidence. It was reported that in the messages, O.B. sent a message to an individual saying, "We are going to make a lot of money," to which the other party replied, "If it's something illegal, don't get me involved."

It was reported that O.B. has been arrested as part of the investigation. Eight people alleged to have acted in concert with the suspect were detained in an operation.
The detained suspects were taken to the police station after undergoing health checks. During searches conducted by police teams at the addresses, some digital materials were seized. While the processing of the suspects at the police station continues, it was stated that the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is ongoing.
