He drew Erdoğan's ire with the words 'I gave the most money'... Çakar accused of pressuring media with advertising: 'If you broadcast the footage...'
It has been alleged that Ziraat Bank General Manager Alpaslan Çakar, who drew President Erdoğan's reaction with his remarks, "I am the biggest philanthropist here. I gave the most money," regarding earthquake aid, exerted advertising pressure to prevent the footage from appearing in the media.
Ziraat Bank General Manager Alpaslan Çakar, who said, "I am the biggest philanthropist here. I gave the most money," at the "We Become One" February 6 Earthquake Commemoration Program held in Adıyaman, had faced a reaction from President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
Now, an allegation of an advertising threat against the media regarding Çakar has come to the agenda.
According to the report by Hatice Turhan from Gerçek Gündem, Çakar involved Levent Marmara, the head of Corporate Communications at Ziraat Bank, to ensure that the footage of his speech would not appear in the press again.
'WE WILL NOT GIVE YOU ADVERTISEMENTS' THREAT
According to the allegation, Marmara called the advertising departments of some media organizations and delivered the message, "If you continue to broadcast the footage, we will not give you advertisements."
