He got out of his car and attacked because of a honk: That individual has been caught!

Minister of Interior Ali Yerlikaya announced that the individual who appeared in footage circulating on social media yesterday, attacking a citizen who honked at him, has been caught. 

Yerlikaya stated the following in his post:

"Following the footage circulating on social media titled 'An individual in Istanbul blocked the path of a driver who honked at him and punched his window,' an investigation was conducted by our Traffic Inspection Branch teams regarding the images.

It was observed that the individual in question stopped another vehicle in moving traffic, walked toward its driver, and attempted to cause a disturbance.

The individual, who claimed to be a member of law enforcement, has been caught by our security forces. It was determined that the individual, identified as M.D., is a civilian and not a police officer. 

Necessary proceedings have been initiated against the individual."
