Communications Director Fahrettin Altun has reacted to the latest statements made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel. Announcing a new boycott list at the Maltepe Rally, CHP leader Özel targeted the Doğuş Group, primarily NTV, for not broadcasting the rally.

Stating that CHP leader Özel is attempting to stir up tension and polarization in Turkey, Altun said, "This effort has no validity in the eyes of our noble nation. As our President always expresses, politics is the art of uniting, not dividing."

Communications Director Fahrettin Altun's statements are as follows;

"The expressions used by the CHP Chairman at an outdoor meeting today regarding many media organizations and his so-called boycott calls against national companies reflect his party's ideological obsessions and reveal its political helplessness.

The CHP Chairman, who begs for attention and recklessly complains about his country when it comes to Western media organizations, is spewing hatred toward domestic and national media organizations that operate with the sweat of thousands of laborers. He is attempting to lynch any domestic company or organization that is busy with its own work and does not participate in their ideological campaigns.

This is an effort to stir up the country, divide people, and polarize society.

This effort has no validity in the eyes of our noble nation.

As our President always expresses, politics is the art of uniting, not dividing.

On the eve of the blessed Ramadan Feast, we would like to remind everyone of this principle once again."

WHAT DID ÖZGÜR ÖZEL SAY?

CHP leader Özgür Özel stated that he has declared a boycott against media institutions that censor the opposition's reactions and against capital close to the government, and expressed the following:

''We are never, ever turning on TRT again, which betrays us with our own taxes.

We are never, ever turning on the media of CNN Türk, TGRT, A Haber, Beyaz TV, Demirören, and Turkuvaz.

Furthermore, they sell cars. From now on, we will not buy cars sold by NTV's Doğuş Group.
