Following the incident that occurred last night, teams from the İzmir Police Department's Public Security Branch, Robbery Bureau, and Homicide Bureau reviewed 110 hours of footage from 70 cameras. The expert teams, who determined the suspect's destination, first identified the 19-year-old attacker. Subsequently, the experienced teams conducted an operation and took Delil Aysal into custody. It was learned that the İzmir Governor, the İzmir Provincial Police Chief, and the Public Security Branch Manager personally followed and coordinated every stage of the operation.

It was learned that Delil Aysal, who killed taxi driver Oğuz Erge and was taken into custody 1.5 hours after the incident, stated in his testimony to the prosecutor that he had no motive. It was learned that Aysal, who shot taxi driver Erge arbitrarily, also took his mobile phone and headphones after the attack.
