The Istanbul Police Department reported that İlker K., who worked as a private security guard and driver at a company in the Maltepe district, had placed a hidden camera in the office of his boss, Fehmi K. It was stated that a fight broke out between the two after the boss discovered the device. It was noted that İlker K. held his boss hostage and opened fire with a gun at the workplace. Following the incident, the attacker was detained by police teams. It was stated that İlker K. and Fehmi K. were cellmates in prison.

The incident occurred at around 11:00 at a workplace on Aksu Street in the Esenkent neighborhood of the Maltepe district. İlker K. had placed a hidden camera in the office of his boss, Fehmi K. Noticing the situation, Fehmi K. began to argue with his driver, İlker K. The argument quickly turned into a fight. When Fehmi K. said he would fire İlker K., the enraged İlker K. threatened his boss with a gun and held him hostage in his office.

BOSS AND ATTACKER TURNED OUT TO BE CELLMATES

İlker K. left the workplace after holding his boss hostage. However, he later returned to the workplace. While police teams were negotiating with the hostage, Fehmi K., İlker K. arrived at the workplace. İlker K. fired approximately 10 shots toward the door against the police officers who were blocking the door to prevent him from entering. Police teams neutralized the attacker and took him into custody.

Investigations revealed that İlker K. and Fehmi K. knew each other from prison and were cellmates. It was learned that the two had stayed in prison together in the past.

İlker K., who was detained after the armed attack, was taken to police units to have his statement taken. While the police have launched an investigation into the incident, it was stated that Fehmi K.'s health condition is good.
