He had said 'If we join the AKP, we will join with Davutoğlu': Future Party's Nedim Yamalı has resigned from his party

Future Party Ankara Deputy Nedim Yamalı announced his resignation from the party in a statement shared on his social media account.

In his statement, Yamalı included the following remarks:

"As of today, I am resigning from my membership in the Future Party, which I have served since its founding. I would like to thank my Chairman, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Davutoğlu, for the support he provided during my work, and I wish all my fellow party members success. Respectfully announced to the public."

HE HAD SAID 'I NEVER BROKE AWAY FROM THE AK PARTY'

Future Party leader Ahmet Davutoğlu had made statements in recent days saying, "In terms of spirit, I never broke away from the AK Party" and "I have never broken away from the AK Party masses, and I will not." Most recently, Davutoğlu said, "There is a need for a major recovery movement. This could be a recovery within the AK Party, or an alternative recovery outside the AK Party. I am open to both."

AKP FIGURES HAD ALSO EXTENDED AN INVITATION

Figures close to the AKP had also called on Davutoğlu to return to the AKP.

It is being discussed in political circles that Yamalı will join the AKP. In a statement he made last August, Nedim Yamalı had said, "If I join the AK Party, I will join together with Davutoğlu."
