Kadir Canpolat, the Chairman of the Osmanlı Ocakları (Ottoman Hearths), known for his proximity to the AKP, has been arrested on fraud charges following a complaint by a businessperson from İzmir. Accused of a 13 million TL scam, Canpolat had previously said of AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, 'We are the shroud-wearing soldiers of a shroud-wearing leader.'
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who has frequently made headlines with his praise for Osmanlı Ocakları Chairman Kadir Canpolat, has been arrested on charges of fraud.
In an investigation launched following a complaint by a businessperson from İzmir, it was alleged that Canpolat defrauded the individual of 13 million TL with the promise of selling or leasing treasury lands belonging to the National Real Estate (Milli Emlak).
ALLEGATION OF 13 MILLION TL FRAUD
According to a report by Alican Uludağ from Now Haber, the businessperson claimed that the promises made by Canpolat were fake and that he had carried out a major scam through this method.
As part of an operation conducted by the Forgery and Fraud Investigation Bureau of the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 7 suspects, including Kadir Canpolat, were detained. Following the investigation, the criminal judgeship of peace issued arrest warrants for 4 people, including Canpolat.
HTS RECORDS AND RECEIPTS CITED AS EVIDENCE
In the court's decision, the bank transactions, receipts, and HTS (historical traffic search) records of Osmanlı Ocakları Chairman Canpolat were cited as evidence regarding the accusations.
