He had waited for her to leave work: Man who stabbed his ex-wife arrested

In Aksaray, a man who stabbed his ex-wife in the foot and leg as she was leaving work has been arrested by the court.

The incident took place on the night of January 25 in the parking lot of the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital.

HE WAITED IN THE PARKING LOT

According to the information obtained, Handan A. (36), who works at the Aksaray Training and Research Hospital, wanted to get into her car in the hospital parking lot to go home after her shift ended. At that moment, Fatih A. (42), who had arrived at the parking lot beforehand and waited for his ex-wife—whom he had divorced a short time ago—to come out, grabbed her by the arm and began shouting before she could get into the car.

Fatih A., who argued with his ex-wife, attacked the woman with a knife he was carrying. While the woman, caught off guard, screamed and asked for help from nearby citizens, Fatih A. stabbed her in the leg and foot.

TREATED AT THE HOSPITAL WHERE SHE WORKS

Upon notification, hospital police and then public security teams were dispatched to the scene. The hospital police, who arrived at the parking lot immediately, apprehended Fatih A. and took him into custody, while a 112 Emergency ambulance was sent from the hospital to the parking lot. The injured woman, who received her first intervention at the scene, was taken to the Emergency Department of the Training and Research Hospital where she works and placed under treatment.

The ex-husband, who was taken into custody, was brought to the police station for questioning and was subsequently arrested by the court to which he was referred after his procedures and sent to prison.
