He insulted Atatürk! Prison sentence for Kuwaiti writer

Kuwaiti writer Abdulaziz Duwaihi bin Rumaih had made posts on his social media accounts targeting Turkey and the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, following allegations that Turkish citizens had attacked an Arab tourist in Trabzon.

According to a report by Odatv, Rumaih was sentenced to 21 days in prison as part of the investigation launched against him. Rumaih was accused of damaging relations between Kuwait and Turkey.

INSULTS DIRECTED AT MINISTER YERLİKAYA

Rumaih, who showered insults upon the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, had also hurled profanities and threats at Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who had announced that a criminal complaint had been filed against him.

Responding to Yerlikaya's social media post, the Kuwaiti writer had used the following expressions:

"My name is Abdulaziz Dhuwaihi bin Rumaih Al-Hajri. We condemn racism and your attack on a Kuwaiti citizen, while you insult our religion, our Prophet, our state, and our sheikhs. Do you think I will be afraid of you because you are the Interior Minister? If you put my shoe in your mouth, I will file a lawsuit against you by disclosing your personal information, you barbarian."
