He murdered his common-law wife and wounded his 17-year-old daughter
In the Vezirköprü district of Samsun, a man stabbed and killed his common-law wife, from whom he had separated and who had a restraining order against him, in a park where he had called her to talk. He also wounded her 17-year-old daughter, who tried to save her mother.
In the Tikenli neighborhood of Samsun's Vezirköprü district, Ömer T. (50) called his separated common-law wife, Huriye Özkan (44), who had a restraining order against him, to a park to talk. In the park, Ömer T. stabbed Huriye Özkan with a knife he had brought with him, and also wounded her daughter, N.Ö. (17), who tried to save her mother.
Huriye Özkan, who was taken to Vezirköprü State Hospital by medical teams arriving at the scene following reports from bystanders, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost her life. The woman's daughter, N.Ö., who was wounded in the incident, was taken under treatment.
Ömer T., who fled the scene, was caught and taken into custody by police teams.
