In Kağıthane, a man shot and killed his brother at their mother's funeral. The individual was taken into custody by police teams.
The incident occurred around 16:30 at the Yusuf Ömürlü Mosque, located on Mesut Street in the Nurtepe neighborhood of Kağıthane district.
According to the information obtained, a funeral prayer was held at the Yusuf Ömürlü Mosque for the late Fadime M. Immediately after the prayer, as Fadime M.'s coffin was being loaded into the vehicle, Mustafa M. opened fire on his brother, Mehmet M., at close range in the mosque courtyard. As Mehmet M. collapsed to the ground in a pool of blood, those who had come for the funeral fled in panic.
Upon the notification of citizens at the mosque, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After the initial intervention by medical teams, Mehmet M. was taken to the hospital.

Police teams, who took security measures in the area and cleared the mosque courtyard, apprehended the suspect, Mustafa M., at the scene along with the weapon and took him into custody. The suspect was placed in a police vehicle under heavy security measures and taken to the police station.

It was learned that Mehmet M., who collapsed after being shot in the head at close range, lost his life at the hospital where he was taken. It is alleged that Mustafa M. has 4 prior criminal records and killed his brother over an inheritance dispute. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
