The incident occurred yesterday on the first floor of a 3-story building on 205/1 Street in the Özgürlük neighborhood of Kocaeli's Çayırova district. A dispute broke out between T.A. (45) and his wife S.A. (37) for reasons yet unknown.

As the argument escalated, T.A. shot S.A., the mother of his two children, in the neck with a handgun.

HE FOLLOWED HER ALL THE WAY TO THE HOSPITAL

When neighbors heard the noise and went up to the apartment, they found the woman lying on the floor covered in blood, while T.A. was holding a gun to his own head. The neighbors took the gun from T.A.'s hand and brought him downstairs to prevent him from harming himself. Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, medical teams were dispatched to the address. The injured woman was taken to Fatih State Hospital after the initial intervention by medical teams. T.A., meanwhile, got into his car and followed the ambulance to the hospital. T.A. was apprehended by police teams in front of the hospital and taken into custody.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
