He spoke for exactly 25 hours at the podium: He broke a 64-year record

In the US Senate, Democratic Senator Cory Booker set a historic record by speaking uninterrupted for exactly 25 hours and 4 minutes to protest the policies of President Donald Trump. Booker's speech was recorded as the longest speech ever delivered in the US Senate.

HE REACTED TO TRUMP'S POLICIES

Taking the floor on Monday evening at 19:00, Booker continued his speech without interruption until Tuesday evening, effectively halting the Senate's proceedings. Throughout his speech, Booker criticized the Trump administration's social security, healthcare, and immigration policies, stating, "I will disrupt the normal flow of the Senate for as long as I can physically endure. Our country is in crisis."

HE BROKE A 64-YEAR RECORD

Booker's speech surpassed the 24-hour and 18-minute speech delivered by Senator Strom Thurmond in 1957 against the Civil Rights Act, marking a new milestone in Senate history. While Thurmond's speech was in opposition to civil rights, Booker carried out this protest in the name of equality and social justice.

WATCHED LIVE BY MILLIONS

Booker's marathon speech resonated widely across the US. Broadcast live on television channels and social media platforms, the speech was followed by millions of people.
