The Kemalist Thought Association has filed a criminal complaint against AKP member Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı, who targeted the Republic of Turkey with scandalous remarks.
Former AKP Istanbul MP Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı, known by the nickname 'Yeliz', had targeted the Republic of Turkey in a social media post, referring to it as a "bloody coup."
While reactions to Çamlı's scandalous post, which included the words "A noble nation and a great state with an ancient history cannot advance on the path to a new, terror-free, and great state without reckoning with and seeking reconciliation for the bloody 1923 coup..! A whistle must be blown, and a new, honorable, and clean page must be turned..!" grew like an avalanche, the fact that no investigation had been launched against him also sparked outrage.
The Kemalist Thought Association (ADD) has filed a criminal complaint against the AKP's Çamlı with the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
In a statement released by the ADD, it was said, "As the Kemalist Thought Association, we present to the attention and information of our esteemed press and our dear nation the criminal complaint we have filed against the individual named former AKP MP Ahmet Hamdi Çamlı due to his irrational, senseless, indecent, and untruthful post targeting our Republic."
