He wanted to prevent a terrorist commemoration: Tunceli Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu reassigned to central government
Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu, who was reported to have opposed a commemoration event held for members of the PKK terrorist organization in Tunceli, has been reassigned to the position of Central Governor by a decision of the Ministry of Interior. Tekbıyıkoğlu, who also served as a trustee, had submitted a petition to become a Chief Civil Inspector.
Tunceli Governor Bülent Tekbıyıkoğlu was appointed to his post in 2023 and began managing the municipality as a trustee after the Tunceli Mayor was removed from office on November 22, 2024. Tekbıyıkoğlu most recently made headlines for his stance against a terrorist commemoration that was planned to be held in the city.
HE WANTED TO INTERVENE IN A TERRORIST COMMEMORATION
According to allegations, Governor Tekbıyıkoğlu opposed a commemoration event held in Tunceli on May 17, 2025, for two so-called leaders of the PKK terrorist organization.

However, it was claimed that permission for the event in question was granted following a phone call from Ankara. Following this development, it was alleged that Tekbıyıkoğlu submitted a petition to the Ministry of Interior requesting to be withdrawn to the Central Governor's office and assigned as a Chief Civil Inspector.
