The National Intelligence Organization (MIT) neutralized Serhat Tagay, codenamed Mervan Hizan, the logistics transfer officer for the PKK/KCK in Gara, through an operation it conducted in Gara, Iraq.

HE WAS THE BODYGUARD OF ORGANIZATION LEADERS

As a result of its intelligence efforts, MIT determined that Serhat Tagay served as a bodyguard for high-level leaders of the organization. It was established that the terrorist Tagay, in line with the instructions of the organization's leaders, organized the transfer of all weapons, ammunition, and explosives used in actions against Turkish security forces in Gara.

The terrorist, who had an outstanding arrest warrant for terror-related crimes, began to be followed step by step.

MIT determined Serhat Tagay's precise location through its intelligence sources. Once the most suitable time for the operation arrived, the button was pressed, and Serhat Tagay, codenamed Mervan Hizan, was neutralized with a precision strike.

WHO IS SERHAT TAGAY, CODENAMED MERVAN HIZAN?

Serhat Tagay joined the PKK/KCK in 2014. He operated at a level responsible for the organization's logistics transfer activities. Between 2015 and 2016, he received military and ideological training in Gara, northern Iraq.

Between 2017 and 2019, he served in the Zap region of northern Iraq. During this period, he participated in many actions against Turkish security forces.

In 2020-2021, he operated within the YPG in Syria. He continued his organizational activities in Gara, Iraq, between 2022 and 2023.

Most recently, he served as a bodyguard for high-level members of the organization operating within the management staff in Iraq.
