Heartbreaking tragedy in Bolu: Grandfather suffers heart attack after losing daughter and grandson

On February 14 in Bolu, 16-year-old high school student Efe Kerem Konuk was found dead in his home. Efe Kerem's funeral was held at the Kılıçarslan Cemetery, where he was laid to rest amidst tears. The loss of Efe Kerem at such a young age deeply devastated his family and loved ones.

Unable to accept the death of her son, his mother, Mine Konuk, fell ill 3 days ago while visiting her son's grave. Upon notification, Mine Konuk was taken to the Bolu Abant Izzet Baysal University Training and Research Hospital by medical teams, where it was determined she had suffered a heart attack. 

Konuk was transferred to Ankara for a pacemaker implantation, and the operation was performed. However, her health condition deteriorated one day after the surgery, and Mine Konuk passed away. Mother Mine Konuk was laid to rest at noon.

Hüseyin Başeken, who could not accept the deaths of his grandson Efe Kerem and his daughter, also fell ill and was rushed to the hospital. Başeken, who was found to have suffered a heart attack at the same hospital, was admitted to the intensive care unit. Yesterday, doctors intervened after his heart stopped and managed to resuscitate him. Başeken's condition remains critical.
