Heavy rains in Pakistan lead to 35 deaths!

According to a report by The Dawn newspaper, heavy downpours and snowfall have significantly impacted life in the Gilgit-Baltistan region, as well as parts of the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces.

In a statement issued by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority, it was reported that the number of people who lost their lives due to heavy rain and snow in the province has reached 35, while the number of injured has risen to 43.

The statement noted that 46 houses were completely destroyed and more than 300 houses were partially damaged due to extreme rainfall and landslides.

The statement also noted that power outages occurred in some parts of the province and that some main roads were closed to traffic.

5 PEOPLE DIED DUE TO ROOF COLLAPSES

On the other hand, officials in Balochistan announced in a statement that 5 people lost their lives as a result of roofs collapsing due to snowfall affecting some parts of the province.

Officials noted that due to weather conditions, 82 houses were completely destroyed and more than 120 were partially damaged in these regions.

Stating that relief efforts are ongoing in 9 districts of Balochistan, officials said that more than 900 people have been relocated to safe areas across the province.

EMERGENCY DECLARED

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the roofs of some houses collapsed due to the impact of heavy rains, and some houses were buried under soil due to landslides.

Meanwhile, adverse weather conditions have affected a large part of the country, including Lahore, Balochistan, Karachi, and the northern mountainous regions.

In Karachi, authorities declared an "emergency" due to heavy rains, while downpours also negatively affected life in some parts of Lahore.
