Heavy snow and blizzard disrupt transport in Ardahan, stranded individuals rescued
Roads were closed in Ardahan due to heavy snowfall and blizzards, while stranded citizens were rescued by AFAD and gendarmerie teams. Highway crews are currently conducting snow clearing and salting operations on the roads.
Heavy snowfall and blizzards have cut off transport on the Ardahan-Göle highway. The Ardahan-Şavşat and Ardahan-Posof highways have also been closed to traffic. Vehicles were not permitted to travel from Ardahan in the direction of Göle.
Numerous trucks and cars became stranded on the Ardahan-Göle highway, where transport came to a halt due to the blizzard.
Stranded drivers were rescued by AFAD and gendarmerie teams and taken to the city center. Highway crews carried out snow clearing and salting operations on the roads where transport had been closed.
