Held for 18 days: Dilruba K. has been released

Dilruba K., who was arrested due to her remarks in a street interview, was released last night around 21:00.

Halk TV reporter Yağmur Beril Varol explained that Dilruba was waiting at a bus stop and borrowed a phone from someone on the street to call her mother.

Stating that Dilruba was able to reach her home around 23:00, Varol noted that Dilruba's mother was in a state of great shock.

Varol stated that Dilruba had just woken up and was currently having breakfast.

'THEY RELEASED HER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT'

Following the news of her release reaching the public, speaking to Cumhuriyet, Dilruba's mother, Aysel Kayserilioğlu used the following expressions:

"We had no information that she would be released. No one, neither our lawyer nor us, had any information. It happened irregularly again. They released her in the middle of the night. No phone, nothing. The child was on her own, unable to reach us or anything. She reached out somehow. I sent her friends somehow and she came."

'THEY GAVE HER A TRASH BAG'

"I am very happy to see my child, but I am a single woman, a single and widowed woman. The fact that my child was released at that hour without notifying the lawyer or me saddened me. They left her outside the prison, no phone, she couldn't reach anyone at all. Someone happened to be passing by. May God bless him, she took his phone and said, 'Mom, they released me, send someone for me immediately.' I immediately reached her friends, they picked her up and brought her at that hour. They gave her a trash bag and said, 'Put your belongings in there.' If they had notified us, we would have at least gone with a suitcase, we would have picked up our child. My child came that way, with that bag in her hand."
