Her death had returned to the agenda with Karabük University: Dina's father speaks out!

The third hearing of the case regarding Gabonese university student Jeannah Danys Dinabongho Ibouanga (17), whose body was found in the Filyos Stream near the Karabük-Yenice highway, Yeşilköy location on March 26, 2023, has been held.

While police teams took extensive security measures in front of and inside the courthouse, the hearing was attended by Gabon's Ambassador to Ankara, Jean Bernard Avouma, representatives of associations from Istanbul and Ankara, and Gabonese students.

"I SENT HER TO STUDY, I RECEIVED HER BACK IN A COFFIN"

Stating that Dina ran out of the basement, father Guy Serge Ibouanga said, "My daughter is calling for help and gets into a car. She gets into the car to be taken to the hospital. The car passes the hospital and continues on its way. Dina then gets out of the car. She runs across the road. The defendant returns to that spot. This situation is clearly visible in the videos. I sent my daughter to study, but I received her back in a coffin. I want to learn the truth and find justice."

Defendant Dursun A., who attended the hearing via SEGBİS, reiterated that he took Dina into his vehicle to help her and that he is innocent, and requested his release.

"I DID NOTHING TO YOUR DAUGHTER"

Dursun A. said, "I did nothing to your deceased daughter. When I stopped the car, I saw her go to the other side. I did not use a single word in the car that would constitute harassment. I do not know the other individuals either. I returned to the side of the stream to relieve myself because I am a diabetic. I relieved myself and smoked a cigarette."

The court, which decided to reject the defendant's request for release and continue his detention, adjourned the hearing to August 5.
