High-level meeting in the TRNC: 'There is no cause for concern'
A high-level meeting to discuss regional developments was held under the chairmanship of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar. Speaking to the press after the meeting, Tatar stated, "The security of our people is under the guarantee of Turkey."
Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) President Ersin Tatar held a high-level meeting at the Presidential Office to discuss regional developments.
"THERE IS NO CAUSE FOR CONCERN"
Speaking to the press after the meeting, where regional developments as well as Iran's retaliatory attack on Israel using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ballistic missiles were evaluated, Tatar stated that Turkey uses its superior capabilities and capacity for regional peace and stability, and noted that there is no situation for the Turkish Cypriot people to be concerned about.
Tatar expressed his hope that the tension between Iran and Israel would come to an end and that the regional tension would subside as soon as possible, emphasizing that all necessary steps are being taken with the motherland, Turkey, for the security of the TRNC.
"OUR PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE CONCERNED"
President Tatar stated the following:
"The security of our people is under the guarantee of Turkey. Our people will continue to live in safety, peace, and tranquility under the guarantee of the Republic of Turkey. Our people should not be concerned."
Turkey's Ambassador to Nicosia, Metin Feyzioğlu, who also spoke to reporters after the meeting, reminded that Turkey is the guarantor and ally of the TRNC, saying, "The security of the TRNC belongs to Turkey."
Stating that Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and all institutions are working for peace and stability in the region, Feyzioğlu emphasized that they have extremely close cooperation with President Tatar, Prime Minister Ünal Üstel, and the government, and added that Turkey and the TRNC continue to work in close alliance relations.
