High-level resignation in IYI Party: Deputy Chairman Yüce reacts, says efforts 'remained in the shadow'

Yüce stated, "Over time, I observed that our efforts to develop a long-term and holistic program for solving the problems our country faces have, at times, remained in the shadow of short-term and reactive approaches. For this reason, I have decided to resign from my position as Deputy Chairman and from my party membership in the IYI Party."

Stating that the IYI Party's claim to be a centrist party has over time been replaced by a narrower, reactionary, and conjunctural political position, Yüce assessed, "The IYI Party's effort to strike a balance between the center-right and nationalist lines has, at times, made it difficult to form a clear vision. Beyond creating a crisis of confidence among voters, this situation has also led to ideas being evaluated based on who expresses them rather than their content within the party's internal operations."

Yüce noted the following:

For this reason, I have decided to resign from my position as Deputy Chairman and from my party membership in the IYI Party. This decision is not out of resentment, but a necessity of my belief in the meaning of politics, institutional reason, and principled consistency. As I understand it, a politician's duty is not to protect their personal comfort zone, but to take responsibility at the cost of defending this country and its values. Hope for Turkey's future lies not only in a change of government, but in the transformation of political culture.

This transformation will be possible not through competition between parties, but through the capacity of parties for principled renewal within themselves. I believe that the true rooting of democratic representation will be achieved when politics is cleansed of populist waves and relies on institutional reason and ethical responsibility."
