High-speed train connecting 6 provinces is coming
The distance between six major provinces in the Black Sea region will be reduced to 2 hours with a new high-speed train project. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu made statements regarding the work in the region.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu met with politicians, bureaucrats, and representatives of the business world from Trabzon at an iftar dinner held at the İller Bank Social Facilities.
Sharing the details of the Samsun-Trabzon-Sarp high-speed train line, which will start in Samsun and connect the provinces of Ordu, Giresun, Trabzon, Rize, and Artvin, Uraloğlu emphasized that thanks to this line, the rail travel time between Trabzon and Samsun will be reduced to 2 hours. It was also stated that this new transportation network will bring the provinces of the region closer together both economically and socially.
NEW AIRPORT FOR TRABZON
Stating that transportation investments in Trabzon are not limited to railways, Uraloğlu announced that a new Trabzon Airport project with a capacity of 10 million passengers, suitable for the landing of wide-body aircraft, has also been included in the investment program. He noted that the tender and site delivery procedures for the airport, which will be built slightly north of the current runway on a 3 million square meter reclaimed area on the sea, have been completed.
Minister Uraloğlu noted that strengthening the region's transportation infrastructure will offer significant opportunities in terms of both tourism and trade, and said, "As one of the locomotive cities of the Black Sea, Trabzon will continue to be the center of our investments."
