Hikmet Çetin makes 'apology' call to CHP's 7th Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu: 'Your words are valuable'

Former CHP Chairman Hikmet Çetin called the party's 7th Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to apologize for his remarks, in which he had said, "I believe Kemal Bey is in contact with those at the highest level regarding 'absolute nullity'."

Çetin stated that Kılıçdaroğlu replied, "Your call and your words are valuable. I was also against the 'normalization' process."

Hikmet Çetin had previously stated, "I believe Kemal Bey is in contact with those at the highest level regarding 'absolute nullity'. Kılıçdaroğlu did not place enough weight on the issue that Erdoğan cannot be a candidate again.

He said 'yes' to the lifting of parliamentary immunities even though he knew it was unconstitutional; Selahattin Demirtaş is still inside today because of him," he had said.

Following the party congress lawsuit, Çetin called Kılıçdaroğlu.

According to a report by T24, Çetin said that during the phone call, he apologized to Kılıçdaroğlu for his remarks made yesterday.

Stating that Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Your call and your words are valuable," Çetin added, "Mr. Kılıçdaroğlu also said that he was against the 'normalization' process following the local elections."

ABOUT THE PARTY CONGRESS LAWSUIT

The fifth hearing of the lawsuit regarding the cancellation of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress and 21st Extraordinary Congress was held. Onur Üregen, the lawyer for former Hatay Metropolitan Mayor Lütfü Savaş, requested that former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who was in office before the congress, be appointed as a precautionary measure until the case concludes. Çağlar Çağlayan, one of the CHP's lawyers, said, "The request for a precautionary measure has been rejected 9 times throughout the entire trial. We reiterate that the court lacks jurisdiction in this case." The court panel rejected the plaintiff's request for a precautionary measure. The case was adjourned until October 24 at 10:00 AM.
