His silence had drawn attention: Statement from Mansur Yavaş's camp regarding Ahmet Özer
A statement has come from the camp of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, who had remained silent regarding the arrest of CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer.
CHP's Esenyurt Mayor Ahmet Özer, who was detained on charges of "being a member of the PKK/KCK armed terrorist organization," has been arrested.
The arrest of Özer drew sharp reactions from the CHP and the DEM Party.
The CHP's retreat with its members of parliament, which was scheduled to take place in Antalya between November 1-3, has been postponed. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel has called his party's Central Executive Board (MYK) to an extraordinary meeting at 13:30.
While Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who went to the Çağlayan Courthouse for Ahmet Özer, expressed his reaction by saying, "You were the ones proposing an embrace without prejudice!", Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş remained silent on the matter.
Yavaş's sharing of an exhibition post on his social media account did not go unnoticed.

"IT WOULD NOT BE RIGHT TO MAKE A STATEMENT WITHOUT KNOWING THE FILE CONTENT"
Journalist İsmail Saymaz shared a note from Osman Kaçmaz, an advisor to Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş, regarding Ahmet Özer's arrest during a live broadcast on Halk TV. Saymaz stated that in the note, Kaçmaz said, "Mansur Yavaş is first and foremost a legal expert. It would not be right for him to make a statement without knowing the content of the file."
