Following his son's arrest for drug trafficking while using an official vehicle belonging to the Parliament, Zenbilci had stated to the public, "I am resigning so that the judicial process does not cast a shadow over my party and my colleagues."

According to a report by Halk TV, Zenbilci, who was not seen in public for about three months, began attending sessions in the TBMM alongside AKP Adana deputies starting in December 2024. This situation led to comments in the corridors that he had "de facto returned to the party." However, the situation remained unclear as no official statement was made.

In April 2025, his presence in the protocol alongside Adana Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger and AKP deputy Abdullah Doğru at a Quran course and mosque opening ceremony attended by the President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş made the signals of Zenbilci's return even more apparent.
