Historian and 12punto columnist Dr. Naim Babüroğlu evaluates Hezbollah's attack on Israel: 'This is not Israel's normal'

It has been reported that 67 people were injured in an attack carried out by Hezbollah using an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) loaded with explosives in central Israel.

According to reports from the Israel-based newspaper Haaretz, the attack took place in the Binyamina region, near the city of Caesarea, south of Haifa.

DEFENSE SYSTEMS DID NOT ACTIVATE

The Israeli army claimed that the kamikaze-type UAV loaded with explosives was launched from Lebanon. It was stated that defense systems did not activate and attack sirens did not sound at the time the attack occurred.

Images shared on social media showed a large number of ambulances and helicopters being dispatched to the area.

Israel's emergency service, Magen David Adom, stated in a release that the number of injured had reached 67. The Israeli army has not yet made a statement regarding whether the location where the attack took place was a military site.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL

Historian and 12punto columnist Naim Babüroğlu drew attention to Israel's stance in a statement regarding the attack on his social media account. Referring to the circulation of photos of Israeli soldiers on social media, Babüroğlu stated, "Israel is publishing photos of the soldiers who were targeted in the Hezbollah attack. This is not Israel's normal. It is like a sign of a large and violent attack." Babüroğlu's remarks were interpreted as highlighting the unusual nature of the posts made following the incident.
