Very harsh 'diploma' statement from HKP Chairman Nurullah Efe Ankut
Nurullah Efe Ankut, Chairman of the People's Liberation Party (HKP), reacted harshly to the cancellation of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu's diploma.
Making a long post on his personal X account, Ankut described this situation as "black comedy" and claimed that the President, despite being without a diploma himself, is eliminating his rivals by using the issue of not having a diploma.
In his post, Ankut argued the following: "Tayyip, who does not have a university diploma, accuses his political rivals of not having a diploma. It's like black comedy..."
Touching upon the allegations that Erdoğan does not have a diploma, the HKP leader claimed that former Higher Education Council (YÖK) President Yusuf Ziya Özcan had clearly stated this situation. He further alleged that the Notaries Union of Turkey had ruled that the notarized copy of the diploma submitted by the President to the Supreme Election Council (YSK) was fake, and that the 15th Notary of Istanbul was penalized for this reason.
