Horrific accident on the TEM: Car roof ripped off after hitting a semi-truck! There are dead and injured...

The accident occurred on the TEM Highway near the Gültepe Rest Area in the İzmit district. According to the information obtained, the BMW brand car with German license plate SIG X 8181, driven by O.U. and traveling in the direction of Istanbul, crashed into the back of the trailer of a Daf brand semi-truck driven by M.A., which was traveling in the same direction.

Due to the force of the impact, the vehicles were dragged for 30 meters, and the roof of the BMW car was ripped off. The driver O.U., the passenger in the front seat Serkan Küçük, and the passenger in the back seat S.Ç. were trapped in the car.

Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, fire, health, and police teams were dispatched to the scene. O.U. and S.Ç., who were extracted from the car by the fire department, were transferred to Kocaeli City Hospital after receiving initial medical intervention. Serdar Küçük, however, lost his life despite all interventions performed in the ambulance.

On the other hand, it was reported that S.Ç. is in critical condition. During the investigation conducted by the crime scene investigation teams, empty alcohol bottles were seen in the car. Due to the accident, traffic congestion occurred on the TEM Highway in the direction of Istanbul. Traffic, which was managed by police teams through controlled passages, returned to normal after the damaged vehicles were removed and cleanup work was completed.
