In the Belediye Sitesi neighborhood of Zonguldak's Kilimli district, the lifeless body of 3.5-year-old Efe Mahmut Kalfa was found in the living room of his home with a tracksuit drawstring wrapped around his neck. The incident came to light after his mother, Cansever Kalfa, screamed for help upon returning home after taking out the trash.
NEIGHBORS' EFFORTS PROVED INSUFFICIENT
A neighbor living upstairs, who heard Kalfa's screams, cut the drawstring wrapped around the child's neck with a knife and called the 112 Emergency Call Center. However, checks performed by medical teams determined that little Efe had lost his life.

MOTHER CONFESSED TO THE MURDER
During her interrogation at the Homicide Bureau, Cansever Kalfa confessed to killing her son. Claiming that her husband was cheating on her, Kalfa stated, "It came to my mind at that moment, and I strangled him with the string."

TO BE LAID TO REST IN BARTIN
The autopsy of Efe Mahmut Kalfa has been completed, and his body was handed over to his father's family. The funeral will be held in the village of Akmanlar in Bartın following the afternoon prayer. Mother Cansever Kalfa has been referred to the courthouse following her processing at the police station.
